Light

1John 1:5-7 – “This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in him there is no darkness at all. If we claim to have fellowship with him yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live by the truth. But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin.”

Light. How thankful are you that you can walk into a room and turn on the light? All darkness runs away when that switch goes up. It hides under furniture and in corners. The light is way more powerful than the darkness.

Now let’s apply that spiritually. The Light of God is way more powerful than the darkness of Satan. Oh, Satan has his time when darkness rules over things. But all it takes is one candle flame to send it packing. Darkness will never win. It may seem like it is winning, but in the end, Light will always win.

We all know people who act one way and say another. There are people acting like followers of Christ who are not. It is like someone walking around in the middle of the night with one of those crank lights. As long as they keep it moving, light will shine. But when their arm gets tired, the light goes out. People can be the same way. They can pretend to follow Christ but when things get tough, they pitter out and the true nature of things is revealed. They are not living by the truth.

Today, take a good look, princess, at how you are presenting yourself to the world. Do they see Christ in the up times as well as the low times? Are you truly walking in the Light if His Word or are you just cranking the light out?
