The pocket door

Matthew 10:32,33 – “Whoever acknowledges me before men, I will acknowledge him before my Father in heaven. But whoever disowns me before men, I will disown him before my Father in heaven.”

Have you ever thought about a pocket door? They are kinda neat to have in a house but a little strange at the same time. Hidden doors that are available if you need them. Hmm…

Do we keep Jesus hidden away until we need Him? Is He our pocket door that we hide behind when things get tough? But when things are smooth sailing, do we put Him behind a wall?

Jesus says here in Matthew that if we fail to acknowledge Him before men that He will not acknowledge that He knows us before God. Harsh. But necessary.

Princess, we should not be guilty of putting Jesus away like a pocket door. We should have Him out in the open, joyfully shining our light. It is not that He won’t be there for us to hide behind but He should never be our hiding place only.
