2 sides

2 Peter 3:8,9 – “But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With The Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day. The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.”
Sometimes we get tired of waiting. We know that The Lord is going to come back, but it seems as if we have been waiting forever.
Then something happens that we want Him to delay His return for just a little while until things get all straightened out. We are a fickle people.
When I read this verse in 2 Peter, I have a sense of peace and of urgency all at the same time. Peace in that he has it all under control and I don’t really need to be concerned about it all. Urgency because I don’t need to delay in addressing the issues He has laid on my heart because He could come back today. I don’t want those things left undone – it could mean someone’s eternity.
So today, princess, appreciate the peace in knowing He’s got it all under control but don’t neglect the issues He has laid on your heart to accomplish.
