Prince Charming

Go back to the time when you were 6 years old dreaming about Prince Charming. You know how the story goes. Most little girls envision their “Prince Charming” riding in on his beautiful, white steed and sweeping you off your feet to take you away to your “happily ever after.” Fast forward 20 years and you wake up to find yourself knee deep in dirty diapers, a mortgage and trips to the grocery store.

God has a “Prince Charming” awaiting each of His princesses. And you are a princess, if you have accepted Jesus Christ as your personal Savior.

Sometimes, we princesses, get in God’s way. He wants us to watch and wait for Him. The problem can sometimes be that we get in a hurry. Slow down, princess. Wait on Him.

Today I noticed that my wedding ring was not quite so shiny. Daily life has taken its toll on the glistening ability of my ring that my Prince Charming had given me. So, I took out the jewelry cleaner and gave it a little scrub.

I began thinking about marriage. Some princesses think that once they find that Prince that things will be easy. The thing is you have to continually work on your marriage. “Happily ever after” is strictly reserved for fairy tales. Now, I’m not saying that you won’t get a glimpse of that every once in a while, but typically you are just hanging on for dear life.

Ephesians 4:32 – “Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.”

My challenge for you, princess, is to use this verse on Prince Charming and watch your attitude change and your marriage grow. Let me know how it works out for you this weekend!
